Labral Tear in the Shoulder
The labrum is a soft fibrocartilage that wraps around the shoulder socket to cushion and stabilize the joint. This cartilage can tear from chronic use as well as from sudden injury, such as a fall.
Physical therapy is usually the first line of treatment for labral tears. Surgery may be needed if the injury doesn’t heal on its own.
