Cartilage Damage and Repair
Cartilage is a connective, cushioning tissue that can be damaged by injury or from wear and tear. If this occurs, your doctor may recommend rest and physical therapy first. There are some treatments and procedures that can stimulate growth of new cartilage or delay or prevent arthritis. If non-invasive treatment is not successful, surgery may be necessary.
