Cy Pres
Support Keck Medicine of USC’s mission and recommend Keck Medicine as a beneficiary of a class action cy pres distribution. Our doctors not only provide personalized and compassionate care, they are renowned leaders in research and education, driving revolutionary discoveries. Cy pres awards fuel and accelerate out ability to develop new treatments, sponsor clinical trials, and combat chronic conditions that impact almost every family.
Designating Keck Medicine as a cy pres recipient will help our clinicians, researchers, and students develop novel treatments in the context of a major, multi-disciplinary research university. Our focus on education and supporting the community, along with our non-profit status, distinguish us from other businesses who develop and patent treatment options for consumers. Cy pres awards to Keck Medicine of USC amplify the power of academic medicine not only in Southern California, but around the United States and world.
Cy pres awards are unclaimed funds from class action settlements or judgments. These funds can be awarded to a nonprofit organization that engages in work that advances public interest. The court makes the final determination of where a cy pres award should be directed, but plaintiff and defense attorneys have an opportunity to influence that decision by recommending Keck Medicine of USC as a beneficiary.
For more information, please contact Jonathan Isorena, Director of Leadership Annual Giving, at (323) 442-2700 or jonathan.isorena@med.usc.edu.
